Doodle is a little different. It has a name that is very similar to your own that is unique to the breed. If you want a dog named Sammy, you cannot have a dog called Sammy. Similarly, if you want a dog named Doodle, you cannot have a dog named Doodle. The same goes for the other dog names as well. If you want a dog named Kitty, it will not work because Kitty has a very similar name to you.
It’s just that cute. The other dogs in the game are not related to you, so it’s just cute. That’s not really a problem, though, unless you’re having a dog named Kitty and then suddenly it turns out that you’re the one who didn’t want a dog named Kitty instead of a dog named Kitty that you actually wanted.
This is why I don’t get why the devs called all the dogs “Doodle” and then changed it after the first few days. This would have made it obvious that each dog was different, which would have been confusing as hell. I’m sure the devs could have come up with a way to make it work other than having to change names after the first few days, but I think they really went for a more subtle, playful approach with the naming scheme.

What I love about these names is they are also the names of dogs that I grew up with. It’s easy to think that a dog named Ruff is a pit bull and therefore a bad dog, but Ruff is indeed a collie and therefore a good dog. But Ruff is also Poppy, Piggy, Muffin, and Ruff. These are all names that have been in the game for a while, and thus should be respected.
