The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we havent even stopped to think about them at all. Because when we havent even realized they arent even there, they control us. Whereas a person who is aware of some minor habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, is able to exercise some meta-cognition to say, “Hmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas.
What we are dealing with here is our meta-cognitions, our unconscious ways of taking in information we aren’t consciously aware of. These unconscious methods of taking in information we aren’t consciously aware of are called “the seven self-limiting beliefs” and help make us, well, lazy.
Most people are aware of the fact that we cannot control our own self-limiting beliefs, routines, routines, and impulses. So that is why a lot of people avoid self-awareness. But we can take a step back and look at it in a slightly more objective way.
If you are on autopilot and you dont really care about your surroundings, you will be oblivious to them. But if you are on autopilot and you are consciously aware of the environment around you, you will be actively seeking it out. So when I say I’m on autopilot, I don’t mean I literally don’t care about anything.
This is why I avoid the word self-awareness. It is very difficult to say what it actually is. But it really is the awareness of where you are as a person, not just of your surroundings. This is why I make it my personal practice to shower at least once a day. So the more often you are aware, the less likely you are to get sick.
As for the shower thing, I guess this is because I always get a bit of a reaction when I sneeze. My brain reacts to the water, I think and sometimes I sneeze. The point is that you should always be aware of your surroundings.
Sneezing is the third thing we’re told to do at Deathloop. It’s the most obvious, but it’s also the most challenging when you’re aware. First you must be aware that you are sneezing. Then you must realize that you’re sneezing in your shower. From there you can figure out how to get the water out of your nose.
This is the first time I’ve ever had a shower and actually sneeze in it. I’m probably not going to be doing that again anytime soon.
